July sales tax rebates up, overall collections continue to lag

The City received our July sales tax report from the State Comptroller’s Office. While the numbers ($620,293) reflect an 8.9% increase over July 2009, overall sales tax collections when compared to budget and the previous year continue to lag. July sales tax rebates represent primarily May sales taxes collected by businesses, remitted to the Comptroller in June, and rebated to the City in July. Please continue to invest in our community and support our businesses by shopping local. Let’s all remember to “Keep It In Keller” »
