The City of Keller and the Keller Public Arts Program are pleased to announce their upcoming August Art Show at Keller Town Hall featuring the works of the Young Artists of Texas (YAT). This non-profit organization was established in 2005 by Jenny Tilbury with the mission of educating and promoting young Texas artists. High school students have an opportunity to receive scholarships towards a college education majoring in art, internships are available for college students to work in the YAT summer camp, and 12 off-site gallery showings are offered throughout the year. Keller Town Hall is proud to be one of those showing locations. The YAT Gallery, located at 246 S. Main St. in Keller is open to the public and serves as the location for regular displays of art as well as Speaker Nights when young artists can learn from the experiences of other career artists.
The City and Public Arts Program are excited to be able to bring this event to the community. The public is invited to attend a special "Meet the Artists" reception from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12 in the foyer at Keller Town Hall, 1100 Bear Creek Parkway. The show itself will be on display from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, Aug. 2-30. For information, contact the City Manager's Office at 817-743-4000 or publicarts@cityofkeller.com.
