Keller Fire-Rescue Goes Pink
"Cares Enough to Wear Pink" Campaign
Posted Date: 10/16/2009

Care Enough to Wear Pink LogoThis Oct. 25-27, you might notice something a little different about your Keller Firefighter/Paramedics. Instead of wearing their traditional blue uniform, firefighters will be wearing specialty pink T-shirts with their uniform pants. Keller Fire-Rescue is joining a national emergency responder campaign, “Cares Enough to Wear Pink.” Our objective is to help raise awareness for women getting mammograms and show our support of those who are fighting against breast cancer.

Keller Fire-Rescue wants to ask, do you “Care Enough to Wear Pink?” Mayor Pat McGrail will issue a proclamation designating the week of Oct. 25-31 as “Cares Enough to Wear Pink Week," and other employees will assist us in our campaign on Friday, Oct. 30, by wearing our pink T-shirts. We encourage residents to join us in supporting our community’s cancer fighters and survivors. Here is what you can do to be a part of the team:

  1. Wear Pink in some form (ribbon, motivational bracelet, shirt, tie, etc.) during the week of Oct. 25-31.
  2. Schedule a mammogram for yourself or encourage the women you love to do so.

Keller Fire-Rescue is dedicated to quality care. The department provides fire protection, emergency medical services, hazardous materials response and rescue services to the community. For information, call 817-743-4400 or send e-mail to firerescue@cityofkeller.com.
