Keller Parks and Recreation Department is a Texas Recreation and Parks Society Gold Medal Department.

The Gold Medal Award honors one municipal parks and recreation organization in the state, within designated population categories, that demonstrates excellence in long-range planning, resource management, program development, maintenance initiatives, professional development, and community offerings.
