FIREFIGHTER OF THE YEAR
JEFF HUNTLEY, Paramedic Field Training Officer
Jeff constantly strives to improve our department in both firefighting and EMS. He is an 8year veteran of the department and continually shows a high degree of professionalism, diligence and dedication. His hard work has earned his peers' respect and superiors' appreciation. Aside from his position as a Paramedic FTO, Jeff holds Advanced Firefighter, Advanced Fire Investigator, Fire Instructor II, Fire Officer II and Hazardous Materials Technician Certifications.
EMS PROVIDER OF THE YEAR
STEVE PALMER, Fire Captain
In 2008, Steve took over duties of coordinating our EMS operations and made great improvements in our EMS Training Program. Steve has over 20 years of service with Keller and has always shown a passion and dedication to EMS. He is recognized for his exceptional organizational skills that were vital to the department last year. Steve is a Licensed Paramedic and holds Advanced Firefighter, Fire Instructor II, and Fire Officer II certifications. He also has an Associate Degree in Emergency Medical Technology.
OFFICER OF THE YEAR
DAVID JONES, Fire Captain
During 2008, while David served as Interim Operations Division Chief, he showed exceptional leadership abilities, willingness to take on other responsibilities and innovative problem solving. He is committed to providing excellent service to the department and the citizens of Keller. David, a 20-year veteran of the department, is a Licensed Paramedic and has an Associate Degree in Fire Science. He also holds Master Firefighter, Master Fire Inspector, Fire Officer II, TCFP Field Examiner and Hazardous Material Technician Certifications. 
FIRE RESCUE EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR
SHERRY WILSON, Administrative Secretary
The Employee of the Year award is new for 2008, established as a way to recognize all employees in the Fire Department. Sherry, serving as administrative secretary, is the first recipient. She was nominated by her peers who described her as a valuable employee with a commitment to internal and external customer service. Sherry goes above and beyond her job description to assure the fire department runs smoothly and efficiently. She is an 18-year veteran of the department.
