Citizens of Keller approved a $4 million library bond on November 6, 2007. The bond carried with 61.08 percent voting for the renovation and expansion of the existing 12,500 square-foot facility. The main focus of the project will be the children's area and meeting space. Citizens were able to provide their input by participating in focus groups and attending two town hall meetings held in August 2007. The target finish date is Summer 2010.

various departments and representatives from the library board and city council has hired PSA-Dewberry, an architectural firm with experience in the study, planning, and design of over 150 library facilities. The Architect Principal-in-Charge will be Denelle C. Wrightson, AIA, of Dallas.

On April 7, 2009, the City Council officially awarded the construction bid to VCC of Irving, one of 23 contractors that submitted qualified bids.  Groundbreaking on the renovation officially took place on Thursday, May 28, 2009.  The Library has moved to Keller Town Hall to accomodate construction, which is scheduled to be completed in Summer of 2010.

The programming, design, and construction of a library is a dynamic process. Stages include, but are not limited to, schematic design, design development, construction document development, furniture selection, project staging, and construction administration.
