The City of Keller is working with State and Tarrant County public health officials as well as Keller ISD to monitor, assess and take precautions in light of recent reported cases of H1N1 Influenza A. The City will work to keep citizens informed of the latest news as it affects our area and City operations, as well as encourage residents and employees to take precautions. The City of Keller is working to sanitize its public facilities, including all buildings, playgrounds and parks. Commonly touched surfaces will be treated with a bleach or antiseptic solution.

2009 H1N1 (sometimes called “swine flu”) is a new influenza virus causing illness in people. This new virus was first detected in people in the United States in April 2009. This virus is spreading from person-to-person worldwide, probably in much the same way that regular seasonal influenza viruses spread. On June 11, 2009, the World Health Organization (WHO) signaled that a pandemic of 2009 H1N1 flu was underway.

Symptoms of regular seasonal flu include fever, lethargy, lack of appetite and coughing. Additional symptoms associated with H1N1 Flu can include runny nose, sore throat, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
