Keller Police working with Keller Post Office to solve recent mail theft
Posted Date: 12/21/2009

On Sunday, Dec. 20, Keller Police officers responded to the Keller Post Office, 520 E. Vine Street, in reference to a mail theft. The outside drop mailbox located in front of the post office had been pryed open after 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19, and before 9 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 20, and all the mail removed.

If you dropped off any mail in this box that included checks or money orders, such as with bills or holiday cards, or had additional financial information that could be compromised, please first contact the Keller postmaster at 817-431-6231. If you know for certain that unauthorized banking or financial activity has occurred, contact Keller Police at 817-743-4522.

Keller Police urges residents to take precautions against mail theft. Go inside the post office to drop off mail as the facility where a security system with cameras is installed making it much more difficult for a would-be thief to break into a primary drop box.

For information, contact Officer Scott Bradburn, Community Relations, at 817-743-4533 or sbradburn@cityofkeller.com.
