Keller Recycling Day

Recycle Event • Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019 • 9 - 11 am

NEW LOCATION The fall recycling event will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5th in the parking lot of the Keller Equestrian Arena located off of Sports Parkway and Golden Triangle Blvd. When entering the event, use Wall Price Road (W) to Chisholm Trail northbound to enter the sports park. (Traffic will not be permitted to enter Chisholm Trail from Bear Creek Parkway).At Sports Parkway, turn right. The equestrian arena is on the right. There will be volunteers and a police officer to direct traffic into the arena. To exit the event, go north on Sports Parkway to Golden Triangle Blvd.

All recycling of hazardous and electronic waste and shredding will take place between 9 and 11 a.m. or until the trucks are full, whichever comes first. Hazardous waste is available to Keller residents only. E-Waste/Shredding is available to Keller residents and businesses. A current Keller water bill or driver's license must be presented as proof of residency.

Acceptable Hazardous Waste: acids, aerosol cans, antifreeze, batteries (all kinds, including car batteries), brake fluid, cooking oil, craft chemicals, degreasers, drain cleaner, fertilizer, fluorescent light bulbs, compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs), herbicides, household chemicals, motor oil, paints and stains, paint thinners, pest strips, pesticides, photo chemicals, pool chemicals, oil filters, solvents, transmission fluid and varnish. 

Unacceptable Hazardous Waste: pharmaceuticals and needles, ammunition, asbestos, building materials, butane cylinders, electronics, explosives, medical waste, PCBs, propane cylinders, radioactive material, smoke detectors and tires. 

Acceptable electronic waste items: Televisions, (no big box and projection TV's) VCRs, computer equipment (CPUs, monitors, printers), fax machines, copiers, microwave ovens, dishwashers, washers and dryers, refrigerators with CFE's removed by certified technician, gaming systems (Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo, etc.), vacuum cleaners, radios, batteries and telephones.

Shredding: Bring old, personal documents to be shredded and help discourage identity theft. Shredding takes place on site until the truck is full. Shredding is limited to 3 bankers boxes 12.5" x 16" or 3 tall kitchen bags, strictly enforced. Due to traffic concerns, there will be no watching. Documents left after the truck is full will be taken back to the shredding facility for destruction.
