Nominate Keller to win $20K during ‘Meet Me at the Park’ campaign
Keller Parks & Recreation staff are hoping area residents will get inspired to Meet them at the Park in April as they compete for a $20,000 grant in honor of Earth Month.
The national campaign is the work of the National Recreation and Park Association in collaboration with The Walt Disney Company, including Disney Citizenship, Disney|ABC Television Group and ESPN. Now in its third year, the program aims to revitalize parks across the U.S.
“Our parks are essential to Keller residents’ way of life, providing beautiful and safe venues to play, work out and enjoy nature with our loved ones,” Recreation Manager Jennifer Basham said. “Every little bit helps when it comes to investing in our recreation system, so we’re hoping our residents will get out and vote!”
Nominate Keller now by visiting NRPA.org/BeInspired. Residents can cast their votes daily while also competing for an individual prize of a new tablet outfitted for the outdoors. At the end of April, the city with the most nominations will receive $20,000 in grant funding for their parks system. Should Keller win the grant, the Parks & Recreation Department will offer residents the opportunity to vote on how the money is spent.
In addition to voting, Keller residents are invited to show us what the parks mean to them by taking selfies out in the parks and sharing them on social media using the hashtags #MeetMeAtThePark, #Parkies, #BeInspired and #KellerParksAndRec. We’ll share our favorites on official Keller Parks & Recreation sites.
