Keller launches interactive financial transparency platform
Citizens can now enjoy unprecedented access to the city’s finances thanks to a new partnership between the City of Keller and a popular digital transparency platform.
Powered by OpenGov, the new platform offers citizens around-the-clock, web-based access to city finance information that they can view, filter, analyze, print and share.
The system displays the current and three prior years of government budget, spending and revenue information, and users will find everything from historical trends to line-item details in charts and graphs that are easy to understand and tailored to citizens’ interests.
“Keller has always promoted fiscal transparency and this partnership takes those efforts to the next level with data that is more accessible and engaging than ever,” Finance Director Aaron Rector said.
Data, which can be explored by year, fund, department, expense or revenue type, is updated weekly year-round. The city has also created some pre-loaded, customized reports to get residents started, based on our most frequent inquiries.
In addition to budget details, users can easily view and search hundreds of transactions dating back to 2014 with the OpenGov Checkbook report. Checkbook entries can be filtered according to details like vendor name, date, description and even dollar amount.
