Keller mayoral, Place 6 races headed for June 10 runoff

Post Date:05/18/2017
Mayoral candidates Pat McGrail and Rick Barnes will go head to head in a runoff election next month after a recount held Wednesday reconfirmed that neither candidate earned the 50 percent of votes required to win.
Joining them on the ballot will be the top two vote-getters in the City Council Place 6 race: Tag Green and Mitch Holmes.
Keller’s runoff election is scheduled for Saturday, June 10 with early voting (available at Keller Town Hall) running from May 30-June 6.
Please note that all registered voters are welcome to cast their ballots in the runoff election, regardless of whether they voted in the original election on May 6.
While the city waits to see who will fill the mayoral and Place 6 seats, former Planning & Zoning Commissioner Chris Whatley was sworn in this week in City Council Place 5. Whatley ran unopposed in the May 6 election after incumbent Bill Hodnett withdrew his nomination.
Seats on the Keller City Council are elected at-large for three-year terms. More information may be found on the Keller website or at
