Rec the Park on July 22!
Area residents are invited to a Field Day Like No Other this month as Keller celebrates National Parks & Recreation Month with the debut of a brand new summer festival: Rec the Park.
Featuring everything from kickball, volleyball and pickleball tournaments to live music, great food, children’s activities, field day challenges and family-friendly fun, Rec the Park will run from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 22 at Bear Creek Park, 400 Bear Creek Park Road. Stop by for an obstacle course, games of ultimate football, tug of war, trash can pong and water balloon dodgeball, and more.
“Rec the Park is an opportunity to celebrate our amazing parks and recreation system through play,” Recreation Manager Jennifer Basham said. “Our goal is to bring elements from different facets of recreation that appeal to everyone. As a Parks and Recreation Department, it is our job to serve everyone and this event will do just that.”
Registration is open now for the event's three morning tournaments: pickleball ($20 per player or $40 for a team of two); volleyball ($15 per player or $90 for a team of six) or kickball ($10 per player or $120 for a team of 12). Applications may be found on the city website at www.cityofkeller.com/rec.
