City of Keller, Dallas Athletes Racing unite to Keep Keller Fit
After the premiere of its Keep Keller Fit campaign last year, Dallas Athletes Racing is headed back to Keller this fall in a series of races in partnership with the city.
“We’ve been producing events in North Texas since 2001 and Keller has always been an incredible partner in our efforts,” Dallas Athletes Racing Founder Tom Ryan said. “Both city officials and residents welcome events to improve and include the health, fitness and business community.”
The Keep Keller Fit campaign will feature six events for individuals, children and families, including the largest sprint triathlon in North Texas and the second year of a Thanksgiving event that allows Northeast Tarrant County residents to get their holiday run in a little closer to home. Taking advantage of the Keller ISD Natatorium as well as the Bear Creek Greenbelt trail system and area roads, this fall’s race lineup includes:
- Sept. 30: What's on Tap 5K
- October 21: Monster Kids and Family Triathlon
- October 22: Monster Triathlon (largest sprint triathlon in North Texas!)
- October 28: Shannon Brewing Monster 5K
- November 4: I Heart BBQ 5K and One-Mile Fun Run
- November 23: Run with the Turkeys Trot 4- and 8-Mile Runs
“Our beautiful parks and extensive trail system make Keller a haven for outdoor fitness enthusiasts,” said Mark Hafner, Keller’s city manager and a triathlete himself. “Dallas Athletes has been a great partner in bringing some of the most popular fitness events in the region to Keller, and we’re excited to welcome them back.”
