Just a year after wrapping up $4.25 million in improvements to a portion of Old Town Keller, city leaders are making plans for the future — and want your help!

“Councils for many years had dreams of reinvesting in Old Town as a way to encourage additional economic growth, and I’m so glad that city leadership moved forward with those plans a couple of years ago; the result is extraordinary,” Mayor Pat McGrail said. “Now, I’d like to see us continue that momentum.”

City Council members in December unanimously approved a $149,560 contract with professional planning and design engineering firm Kimley-Horn to do just that, devoting the months ahead to studying needs and possibilities for Old Town Phase II impacting the portion of Old Town south of FM 1709/Keller Parkway and east of Hwy. 377/Main Street.

While this process will include scheduled public meetings as well as in-person comment opportunities at upcoming community events, the first step in gathering public input has begun with the launch of an Old Town web survey seeking feedback on everything from parking and pedestrian wishes to economic development preferences. The survey will provide important insight to our design engineers and city leadership, and is open to everyone whether they live in Keller, work here or simply enjoy visiting.
