Wall Price-Keller reconstruction set to kick off Aug. 9
Drivers who use Wall Price-Keller Road to connect travel between Hwy. 377/Main Street and Whitley Road will encounter closures beginning in early August as the road undergoes a full reconstruction.
Work has been rescheduled to start on Thursday, Aug. 9 to reconstruct the roadway, expand turning capacity and improve the intersections at each end, and replace an adjacent water line. In its final configuration, eastbound drivers will have dedicated turn lanes both north and south onto Whitley and westbound drivers will choose between a dedicated left-turn lane to head southbound on Hwy. 377 or a straight/right lane option. Plans also call for widening the pavement at the Hwy. 377 intersection to improve turning radii for vehicles.
Drivers should anticipate a full road closure throughout the project, from Hwy. 377 to Whitley Road. The full closure will allow the contractor to reduce construction time by at least six weeks with plans to re-open to traffic in early November.
