2018 residential street repair program kicks off in September

Post Date:08/31/2018

Work is scheduled to begin the week of Sept. 3 on about $1.2 million worth of street maintenance projects impacting 34 streets throughout town.

The city’s annual residential street maintenance program, funded through a 1/4-cent of the city’s sales tax revenue, will cover pavement replacement; subgrade repairs as needed; spot sidewalk, curb and gutter replacements; and water service line upgrades where necessary. Workers will also be replacing wheelchair ramps on the listed streets to bring them into compliance with current ADA standards.

Area residents as well as services like mail and garbage will continue to have access to their homes throughout construction. Drivers will see work on the following roads, and weather permitting the entire project is scheduled to be complete in March 2019. For more information, including details of the limits of each road segment that will see repair, contact Public Works at 817-743-4080.
