Road work starts May 1 on Ottinger Road
A street improvement partnership between the city and Tarrant County will have Ottinger Road drivers encountering closures to through traffic from Manor Way to about 700 feet north of Florence Road beginning this week.
Construction will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday beginning Wednesday, May 1, and work is expected to last about three weeks (weather and site conditions permitting). The project will begin with a few days of milling to remove the existing asphalt surface, followed by stabilization of the subgrade, the pouring of 4 inches of new asphalt and striping.
Ottinger will be kept open to traffic as often as feasible, including with flagging operations during daily construction hours when site and safety conditions allow traffic to pass. The road will also reopen each night and over weekends to minimize driver impacts. During the intermittent closures, drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes, including Melody Lane, and Bancroft, Johnson and Florence roads.
Residents who live along the impacted stretch of Ottinger Road will continue to have access to their homes during construction, and service vehicles like garbage and mail delivery will be allowed through. For more information, contact Public Works at 817-743-4080.
