Rapp Road rehab set to begin May 20
A street improvement partnership between the city and Tarrant County will have Rapp Road drivers encountering intermittent closures to through traffic from Rufe Snow Drive to just south of Wishing Tree Lane starting next week.
Construction will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday beginning Monday, May 20 with a few days of surface milling. The county's work will include subgrade stabilization, 4 inches of new asphalt and striping, and is expected to take up to three weeks (weather and site conditions permitting).
Rapp Road will be kept open to traffic as often as feasible, including with flaggers during daily work hours when site and safety conditions allow it, and over the majority of nights and weekends. While the most extensive work is being completed between Rufe Snow Drive and Chapel Wood, staff anticipates that the road may remained closed overnight for several days.
Residents who live along the impacted stretch of Rapp Road will continue to have access to their homes during construction, and service vehicles like garbage and mail delivery will be allowed through. For more information, contact Public Works at 817-743-4080.
