Keller Public Library earns ninth consecutive excellence award
For a ninth consecutive year, the Keller Public Library has been honored with the Achievement of Library Excellence Award from the Texas Municipal Library Directors Association recognizing staff for their commitment to service and educational programming in our community. Only 52 libraries from among the roughly 550 public libraries statewide made the cut for this prestigious honor in 2018. The award is given annually to libraries that demonstrate service excellence in 10 areas:
• Summer Reading Program
• Services to Underserved Populations
• Enhanced Services
• Marketing Materials
• Cultural and Topical Educational Programming for Adults and Families
• Literacy Support for All Ages
• Collaborative Efforts with Community Organizations
• Staff Training
• Digital Inclusion
• Workforce Development
“Awards like these are a testament to the incredible work our staff is doing day in and day out, and the wonderful community we've been able to create in partnership with our patrons, " Director Jana Prock said, "I'm so proud of their passion, creativity and commitment to excellence."
The Keller Public Library kept busy during Fiscal Year 2017-2018, assisting more than 213,000 patrons circulate 465,921 books, magazines, audiobooks, DVDs and more. Staff also hosted 643 programs throughout the year attracting more than 27,600 participants, and issued more than 2,600 new library cards. Over 30,000 Keller residents are now the proud owners of a library card.
