Johnson Road improvements public input meeting set for Aug. 22

Residents are invited to join us the evening of Thursday, Aug. 22 for a presentation and public input meeting focused on upcoming improvements to Johnson Road, including lane configuration, drainage upgrades, and pedestrian connectivity.

City Council will receive their first briefing on the project stretching from roughly Hallelujah Trail to Rhonda Road at 6 p.m. that evening and a public input meeting will follow, scheduled for 7 p.m., at Keller Town Hall, 1100 Bear Creek Pkwy. 

Meeting attendees will hear from Public Works staff and the professional engineering consultant team on this project as they review options for various enhancements and their pros and cons. They'll see a variety of conceptual drawings, and learn how options would impact the construction timeline and price tag as well as individual properties along Johnson with regard to things like right-of-way. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, discuss concerns and share their vision for the final project concept.

Unable to attend in person? No problem. This meeting will be broadcast live, and recorded and archived on the city website. The recording and a PDF of the evening’s presentation will be posted to the website the following day so that our community members have the chance to catch up, and an online form will be available to submit comments and questions directly to staff.

Following this wave of feedback, Public Works will put together a final draft concept for the Johnson Road project that will be presented during a second public input meeting and see additional City Council discussion before a final concept is ultimately voted upon.
