Mt. Gilead construction begins in preparation for Timberland Blvd. extension
Mt. Gilead Road between Hwy. 377 and Bourland/Marshall Ridge Parkway is expected to close for about a month beginning Monday, Sept. 23. In connection with the City of Fort Worth's extension of Timberland Boulevard from Park Vista to Hwy. 377 and paired improvements to the Mt. Gilead/Hwy. 377 intersection, this closure will allow crews to relocate water mains and expand Mt. Gilead's pavement as it approaches the highway.
Additionally, the existing railroad crossing at Hwy. 377 and Katy Road just across Keller's city limit lines in Forth Worth will be closed for up to five months beginning Monday, Sept. 16. When construction is complete, Katy Road will intersect the newly-constructed Timberland Boulevard, and Timberland Boulevard will be the new multi-lane railroad crossing at this location.
On the other side of the highway, westbound drivers on Mt. Gilead will have three lane options at the intersection: dedicated lanes for turning left, heading straight or turning right.
During the railroad crossing closure, traffic will be detoured to either Keller Haslet Road or Keller-Hicks Road and Park Vista Boulevard. During the Mt. Gilead closure, traffic will be detoured to Ridge Point Parkway or Johnson Road via Bourland/Marshall Ridge Parkway.
