Have the best outdoor holiday decorations in town? It’s time to earn some official bragging rights!

Residents and business owners have until 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11 to enter the city’s 32nd annual Holiday Yard Decorating Contest. Individual homes, streets (minimum four houses), subdivisions/neighborhoods and businesses are invited to compete against one another for official judging on Friday, Dec. 13.

This year’s theme is "Winter Wonderland," and awards will go to first- through third-place winners and a People’s Choice Award winner in each category. Judges will also select an overall winner, who will take home the first Ed Speakmon Memorial Best in Theme Award honoring “Mr. Christmas” and former Mayor Pro Tem Ed Speakmon, who died this spring.

Official judging will take place on Dec. 13 rain or shine, and entries should be ready by 5:30 p.m. People’s Choice voting will be done online and run from Dec. 12 to Dec. 18. All winners will be announced Thursday, Dec. 19.
