Between sunshine, rising temperatures and the ongoing efforts of our Public Works team, Keller roads have seen significant improvement throughout the day. The majority of our thoroughfares are clear and drivable at this point, though some neighborhood-level streets remain slick. If you’re heading out, please continue to take it slow and steady.
Westbound FM 1709/Golden Triangle near the tracks has reopened following this morning’s emergency repair work by Union Pacific, but Ottinger Road between Manor Way and Galilee Drive remains closed due to that hanging utility line.
Slush or lingering moisture on the roads today will refreeze overnight, so be sure to take it easy as you get your day started on Saturday. That should clear quickly, though, as temperatures pull above freezing for several hours. We expect this to be our last road condition update of the week and hope you all enjoy your weekend!
If you encounter issues like fallen trees in the roadway or traffic signage that has been knocked over — or you suspect a water main break in your neighborhood — please report it to Public Works as soon as possible at 817-743-4200.
GARBAGE
After evaluating the road conditions, CWD has decided to cancel all residential and commercial garbage collection for the remainder of the week. Collection will resume on customers’ normal schedule beginning Monday, Feb. 7.
City facilities, including Keller Town Hall, The Keller Pointe, the Keller Public Library, and the Keller Senior Activities Center, will be closed Friday, Feb. 4. The Regional Animal Adoption Center managed by the Humane Society of North Texas also remains closed today.
The Keller Pointe will reopen on Saturday, Feb. 5 with a delayed start time of 9 a.m. The Keller Public Library will also reopen on Saturday for its normal hours, noon to 5 p.m.
EVENTS
- Friday night’s Daddy Daughter Dances have been canceled; ticketholders have been sent emails about their tickets moving to Saturday night’s timeslots. For questions or concerns about the shift to Saturday, please reach out to Jordan Dawson at jdawson@cityofkeller.com.
- Saturday evening's performance by the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra here in Keller has been canceled. That performance will be rescheduled and all tickets will be honored at the new date and time (TBD).
