In August, helping those in Central Texas impacted by this month’s floods will be as easy as ensuring everything that can be recycled makes it to your curb!
Throughout the month of August 2025, CWD plans to donate $10 per ton of recyclable materials collected across all the communities it serves to the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, directly benefiting those impacted by the Kerr County flood.
As long as they’re empty, clean and dry, the following materials should be going into your recycling bin:
- Plastic Containers #1-5 and #7
- Corrugated Cardboard & Boxboard
- Milk/Juice Containers
- Aluminum, Steel & Tin Containers
- Mixed Paper, Newspaper, etc.
- Glass Bottles and Containers
Please keep in mind that the following should not go into your curbside recycling, and can spoil the entire load:
- Food or Wet Waste
- Paper Towels or Toilet Tissue
- Shredded Paper
- Paper and Plastic Food Serving Items
- Lightbulbs
- Window Panes
- Packaging Materials
- Plastic Bags
- Styrofoam
- Yard Waste
The last time CWD organized a fundraiser like this, it saw a 15% increase in the collection of recyclable materials. Let's try to beat it, Keller!
