Planning and Zoning is a division of the Community Development Department and is responsible for regulating and controlling the design, quality of materials, building use, and location of all residential and commercial developments within the city.

This division is also responsible for safeguarding property and the public welfare through the enforcement of the City's zoning codes. This activity includes enforcement of the Unified Development Code (UDC).
