Photo of a voting buttonThe City Secretary's Office is responsible for conducting municipal elections as prescribed by the Election Code of the State of Texas.

The Keller City Council is composed of a mayor and six council members in places designated as 1 through 6. All are elected at-large for three-year terms by registered voters within the city limits of Keller. The mayor and City Council Places 5 and 6 shall be elected for the initial three-year term in 2011 and every three years thereafter. City Council Places 1 and 2 shall run through 2012 and shall be elected every three years thereafter.  City Council Places 3 and 4 shall run through 2013 and shall be elected every three years thereafter. 

Each member of the City Council shall be a registered voter of the city who has been a resident of the city for at least one year immediately prior to the election and at least 21 years of age.  A member of the council who at any time ceases to possess any of the qualifications specified in this section or any other section of the City Charter, or who is convicted of a felony while in office, shall immediately forfeit his/her office.
