Physical Agility Test Process:
The City of Keller will utilize Tarrant County College (TCC) to conduct Physical Agility Testing (PAT) for Firefighter/Paramedic applicants.


Minimum requirements for application:

  • Minimum of 19 years of age; and
  • High School Diploma or GED and valid Texas driver’s license; and
  • Paramedic (TX or NR) OR
  • EMT-B (TX or NR) and Firefighter (TX or IFSAC)

Application Process:

  • When an opening/test date is announced, candidates will be required to complete an employment application via the main Employment page in order to be considered.
  • Upon approval for testing, candidates will be required to submit a completed, notarized Personal History Statement (PDF) to their testing appointment, along with any requested/required documentation.

Examination components:

  • General aptitude written examination for entry-level firefighter (conducted by City of Keller when an opening is announced)
  • Physical agility test elements will include:
    • Rescue maze
    • Ladder climb
    • Fireground evolution drill (hose drag, equipment carry, Kaiser sled, dummy drag, ladder raise)
